CeBIT, the world’s largest computer expo, is coming to Mexico City in late 2017, representing the first iteration of the event in Latin America.
The event will be held between the 15th and 17th of November 2017 and feature more than 100 industry leading exhibitors in a 4,000 square meter space.
Some of the key exhibitors will be Intel, Microsoft, IBM, Samsung, CA Technologies, Cisco, Telefonica, Telmex, Axtel, and At&T, with a primary focus on business solutions technologies, as opposed to gadgets and cellphone. Topics such as Big Data, Cloud, IoT, research, and innovation will play a big part in the event.
The Mexican edition of CeBIT is being facilitated by Trade Show Factory, an expo organizer with more than 20 years’ experience. “The Mexican IT market is increasing very rapidly, and Mexican companies need more tools to find more and better business,” said Jorge Arizmendi, Director General of Trade Show Factory. “We need to be more competitive in this global market, so with this show we offer the business solutions that increase these benefits for Mexican companies.”
Arizmendi explained that his company began holding an IT expo in Mexico in 2012, which ran for three years, but had to cancel the show due to large brands in the sector not participating, such as Microsoft, Google, Telmex, and Axtel. “We needed support from them to have more companies participate,” he said, “but, some of the larger firms, such as Gartner and Cisco, started to do their own closed shows exclusively for clients and distributors, but not for the general industry. With CeBIT, we are looking to show the new technologies in IT in order to develop new business for exhibitors and visitors. CeBIT event is open to any members of the IT industry, and other industries, not just clients. These could be manufacturers, banks, department stores, retail, aerospace, services, hospitals, and all industries.”
On October 27th 2016, there will be a cocktail event to celebrate the launch the show in Mexico City, with support from CANIETI, AMITI, and AMPIC. This cocktail is mainly for possible exhibitors and sponsors, as well as related chambers and members of government.
