How To Increase Fan Speed on Laptop and PC Windows 10
The fan speed on my laptop is not at the maximum setting. I want to know how to increase the fan speed on my laptop and my PC Windows 10. To change the fan speed settings, press the F5 key to access the BIOS. Press Ctrl-F4 or F2 to enter setup mode. You can then navigate to “Temperature” and change the slider to the desired fan speed.
You will see a temperature increase in the “Temperature” menu. That is because you have manually changed the fan speed to a higher level.
The BIOS also updates its internal software as soon as you set a new fan speed value in it.
You can then change your fan speed back to the normal speed level.
After you complete this step, you will see that the temperature of your laptop is very low and the CPU temperature of your PC is also very low.
CPU temperature is a very important indicator in your laptop. If it increases over a few degrees, that means that the CPU is overclocked and if the CPU temperature reaches a critical level, that can damage your CPU or your entire laptop.
All modern Intel processors support Turbo Boost 3.0 technology which allows them to automatically increase their clock speeds when they are under heavy load, so their cooling system is no longer needed to keep them cool.
So if you change your PC processor to a different processor or if you add more cooling fans on your PC, the temperature will decrease and your PC can be more efficiently cooled.
Does MSI Afterburner have to be open for fan control?
MSI Afterburner is a utility that can be used to overclock and overvolt video cards. It also has the ability to control fan speeds. MSI Afterburner does not have to be open in order to control the fan speeds of a video card.
When you click on the fan control icon, the fan control window will open. Inside this window, there is a green bar which reads “System Setting” at the top.
By default, it will say that your card is at stock and the green bar will be green.
You may also notice that under this bar, there are three blue bars; one for CPU, one for Memory and one for PLL.
These represent what each type of hardware component inside your computer needs in order to run at its best performance levels.
To adjust your fan speed, click on the arrows. The yellow arrow at the top right corner will advance to the next number, while the red arrow at the bottom left corner advances to the previous number.
